Behind
Creating art is a distinct part of what it means to be human. When people invest in their creative growth, it is a sign they are thriving. When we were looking to name our business, we wanted a name that captured this thought and were drawn to the Psalms and its images of cedar trees and sheltering under God’s wings. Being rooted in things that give us life gives us wings to soar.

Carroll Stevens

Carroll Stevens has been making music since his earliest memories and has a special love for musical forms that bring people together into community. In addition to traditional classical musical training at the University of Michigan and Gordon College, he has studied world music, living 11 years abroad in South Asia. Carroll recently wrapped up a career teaching music and directing the Fine Arts department at Portsmouth Christian Academy and has returned to one of his first loves - pianos. Carroll is a registered piano technician with the Piano Technicians Guild and enjoys working on pianos to make them sound their best. He enjoys relaxing with his family, playing disc golf, and making music with others.
Susie Stevens

Susie Stevens started playing the violin in 5th grade… and hasn’t stopped since! She is a trained Suzuki teacher and has loved working with students on violin, viola and cello for nearly 15 years. While classically trained, her newest joy has been playing and teaching fiddle music as a teacher of the Acoustic Roots Orchestra. In addition to teaching both strings and art classes at Portsmouth Christian Academy, Susie is a member of the American String Teachers Association and the New Hampshire Fiddle Ensemble.
